Day 10 DC Bound

It was time to say goodbye to the Frys @ Scarsdale.  We have had a wonderful time and have greatly appreciated all the hospitality and road trips.  We have also enjoyed their beautiful home.

It was All Aboard Amtrak Train 95 on Track 3 to Washington DC this morning.  Cheryl braved the busy traffic (again) to ferry us to our destination.

Stamford was a very busy station with trains coming and going from all directions with limited signage but we manged to board the right one.

Finding 4 seats together took some time (and a kerfuffle with an old huffy dude) but we sorted ourselves out and settled in for four hours of peace, scenery and relaxation.  The kids found power sockets and wifi so they were also set for a great trip.

Our journey was via Penn Station so we were lucky enough to get another glimpse of the Manhattan skyline with the majestic Empire State Building (I think I'm in love) and the beautiful Chrysler building, shining in the morning sun.

We loaded up with new passengers and pulled out of Penn.  Goodbye NYC - I hope to see you again.  I am yet to see the Met, Zabars, the Yankees or Riverside Church......

The Conductor reeled off the stops, saying that Virigina was another universe and Washington DC was his favourite stop as it was his home town.  I love this place.

Arrived safely at Union Station Washington DC.

Checked into hotel.  1981 called.......

Dumped the bags (and the kids) and paid a call on the Prez.  It was the closest we could get thanks to Intrudergate.

That's all for now.
